- Firstly, individual penalty shots were collected for both teams from transfermarket, a reliable source of football data.
- The dataset was subsequently aggregated to calculate for each team, the percentage of penalty shootouts won, and the percentage of penalties converted in each world cup shootout.
- The dataset was further aggregated by player to find, across all national team competitions, the number of penalties scored in both shootouts and in-game penalties, along with the conversion rate for each player.
