„Contact tracing, adjusted to transmission patterns, is being done well in Jamaica, Argentina and Costa Rica,” said Jarbas Barbosa, PAHO’s Deputy Director. Barbosa also pointed out that „while we wait for an effective vaccine and better treatments against COVID-19, countries should expect to see a series of recurrent outbreaks, so they should always be prepared to act”.
Jamaica’s Minister of Health and Welfare Christopher Tufton has noted that contact tracing remains a critical part of the Ministry’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic. For months, the Jamaican government has imposed numerous measures to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
