have applied to obtain the brand of territorial promotion.
The aim is to promote the dense network of villages that enrich Campania’s historical and cultural heritage and a model of tourism based on a healthy lifestyle, far from the modern frenzy.
The Campania Region presented the ’Borghi Salute e Benessere’ project at the BIT – International Tourism Exchange in Milan. This initiative aims to stimulate and support territorial promotion projects created by Campania municipalities with less than 20,000 inhabitants. The project was promoted by the Campania Region and Scabec – Società Campana Beni Culturali.
A total of 335 municipalities, which is about 70% of those eligible and divided into 48 networks, have applied for the BSB brand. The brand is used to launch territorial promotion activities that aim to provide visitors with a healthy and culturally stimulating living experience.
The territory spans the 5 provinces of Campania and has a population of over 1 million inhabitants.
From the northernmost municipalities in Caserta, such as San Gregorio Matese, Conca della Campania, and Piedimonte Matese, to those in the broader province of Salerno, including Petina, Stio, Olevano sul Tusciano, Alfano, and Castel San Lorenzo.
In between are the green Irpinia, represented by small towns like Atripalda, Pietrastornina, and Torrioni; the Samnite area, including Morcone, Paupisi, Ponte, and others; and finally, the Neapolitan villages, such as Casamicciola and Casamarciano.
The BSB brand will contribute to the creation of an impressive network of villages in Campania, which will then develop, in aggregate form, a project proposal that includes the implementation of activities aimed at :
(a) enhance the built heritage to increase the network’s accommodation capacity through hotel facilities.
(b) Encourage the creation of a quality food and wine offer.
(c) Plan actions aimed at the enjoyment of the landscape and environmental heritage.
(d) Promote the knowledge of rural traditions and local handicrafts.
(e) Provide a variety of cultural events and guided tours to religious sites.
(f) Provide for the organization of guided tours to religious, archaeological and monumental sites within the perimeter of the territorial network.
- g) plan a model of territorial furniture (signs, panels, totems, etc.)
(h) Establish a web site of the Territorial Network.
(i) provide adequate information on public services.
Finally, a Borghi Salute e Benessere card will be created. This card will be a Campania>Artecard family pass that networks all the boroughs involved.
It offers cultural experiences such as museum access, food and wine tasting tours, reserved discounts, and dedicated prices to participate in events programmed by Scabec.
Campania>Artecard is a pass promoted by the Campania Region through Scabec – Società Campana Beni Culturali. For over 15 years, it has provided the opportunity to enjoy the local cultural heritage and travel on public transportation, thanks to the partnership with the UnicoCampania consortium.
Attached is a list of projects participating in the 'Borghi Salute e Benessere’ project.
