Family bike Kronplatz family holidays

Cycling has become fun for everyone and the Kronplatz holiday region is perfect for unforgettable adventures in the unspoilt nature of the Val Pusteria (Pustertal Valley).

Surrounded by an enchanting alpine environment at Kronplatz, you have the opportunity to cycle while enjoying the scents and colours, feeling the gentle breeze on your face, immersing yourself in nature and admiring the unique views of the Pustertal Dolomites. All this along countless routes, suitable for every type of cyclist!

The valley’s moderate altitude differences are ideal for pleasant cycling tours and easy family outings. Trails such as the Val Pusteria cycle path make it possible to get from one place to another in a short time, to take a refreshing break, or to end the ride with some shopping.

Kronplatz offers countless cycling tours, all different and for every level of difficulty.

The bike tour from Gais to Sand in Taufers through the idyllic landscape along the Aurino River is family friendly and practically flat. The starting point is the children’s playground in the centre of Gais. The cycle path takes holidaymakers of all ages through meadows, fields and villages along the Ahrn to the Riva waterfalls before Sand in Taufers.

This is a marked cycle path that passes partly on roads, partly on access roads to farms and on paths through fields, with the possibility of returning along the same route.

Another lovely cycling route for beginners and families is the Val Pusteria. It starts in Rio di Pusteria and ends in Lienz (A). It is a 150 km cycle route with a ride time of around 6-7 hours well divided into 4 stages and with an easy degree of difficulty suitable for everyone, even beginners.

The first flat section, 25.5 km long, is the most accessible, passing through Vandoies di Sotto and di Sopra, Chienes, Casteldarne and S. Lorenzo to Brunico (835 m). From Brunico, the route continues via Percha, Valdaora di Sotto, Valdaora di Mezzo and Valdaora di Sopra, through Monguelfo, Villabassa and Toblach (1,241 m), until reaching San Candido (1,174 m). The second stage is again very flat and 33.5 km long.
