SMS GROUP

SMS Group opened its first Travel and Tourism office in 1950, branching out into other ancillary services. Today, whilst retaining its active involvement in shipping and other industries, SMS has gained incomparable experience in the tourism industry, playing a significant part in the development of the island’s tourism activities. With over 50 years exposure to the Tourism industry, the management at SMS is highly experienced in all types of tourism operations including tour operating, cruise liners, groups, conferences, incentives and special travel.

ACCOMMODATION

SMS has excellent relations with all the hotels in Malta & Gozo. We work hard to obtain the lowest available rates and secure an allocation for our operators on a seasonal basis. Our team work on negotiating of rates, conditions for accommodation, handling of reservations and updating of information about new properties and improved facilities.

TRANSFERS & HANDLING

We are the largest transfer provider in Malta handling approximately 18,000 arrivals per month, our team of experts’ handles the organisation of transport, including first-class coaches, taxis, chauffeur driven cars as well as efficient and cost-effective shuttle transfers. We also offer professional assistance at airport 24 hours a day and car hire services.

EXCURSIONS & TOURS

The excursions Department organises and operates a daily programme of excursions to the islands’ main tourist attractions in English, German, French and Italian. The department also organises tours designed specifically to our clients’ needs and can also provide excursions in other languages such as Russian, Czech, Dutch, Spanish, Greek, Hungarian, Japanese, Polish and Scandinavian. Our excursions are operated to ensure maximum comfort to our clients; we use the best coaches available locally and fully licensed guides with no hidden extras.

TOUR OPERATORS

As Malta’s largest incoming agent SMS Tourism handles over 250,000 passengers per year. We are proud to be agents of a few of the world’s largest Tour Operators such as Thomas Cook, Jet2Holidays, Expedia, Neckermann and many more. The Group fully owns an ATOL licensed British Tour Operating Company which specialises in holidays to Malta and recently have expanded in offering package holidays to the neighbouring Country of Italy. During the week in Malta our dedicated team handles over 18,000 airport transfers, up to 3 cruise line turnovers, various itineraries on Group Bookings on excursions as well handles all the communication with our hotels.
