A few days ago, we reported that people who had been in China, Iran, South Korea and Italy in the last 30 days were restricted from entering the islands.
Yesterday, the Ecuadorian Government has invalidated this policy and announced that, as of the date, the entry process to the islands will be as follows:
All passengers must fill out a health and travel screening form prior to arrival. This will be administered by the airlines.
The Ministry of Health and Galapagos immigration will now screen all incoming Galapagos passengers for symptoms of illness. This will be in addition to the screenings taking place when passengers pass through mainland Ecuador.
With this new procedure, immigration may take longer than usual for your passengers. Additionally, some passengers may be refused entry based on their recent travel histories or if they are showing symptoms of illness. For this reason, we will be moving our airport transfers back 30 minutes to allow a bit of breathing room for your travelers.
