The authorities of the countries we operate in take the new virus very seriously. Unfortunately, this also means that the governments of Colombia, Peru and Chile have decided that people coming from some high-risk countries have to go into quarantine upon arrival at the airport. Please check the country information below for more details.
Bolivia: Two confirmed cases of coronavirus. The authorities have established an Emergency Operating Committee and health inspections are taking place at airports and in border areas.
Colombia: Nine cases of coronavirus have been confirmed. Travelers who have recently been in China, Spain, Italy and France have to stay in quarantine for fourteen days upon arrival, not including flight passengers with a final destination in another country. All people entering Colombia have to fill out a registration form.
Chile: In total 23 people have been infected with coronavirus. People who recently have been in Spain or Italy have to stay in quarantine for fourteen days and all travelers have to fill out a health form upon arrival.
Peru: Thirteen people have been infected with the virus. Travelers who have been in
China, Spain, Italy and France in the past weeks have to stay in quarantine for fourteen days upon arrival to the country. Lima’s international airport has a mobile hospital where patients can be treated.
Ecuador: Seventeen cases have been confirmed. International travelers undergo a quick temperature and health check upon their arrival in the country and before embarking flights to the Galapagos Islands.
With the exception of people from the high-risk countries mentioned above traveling to Colombia, Peru or Chile, we hope that your clients will continue to visit the Andean countries. In most cases, the risk of infection in South America is much lower than in the traveler’s home country and tourists won’t experience inconveniences exploring our beautiful destinations.
