Everything is ready for the opening of the summer season at Kronplatz!

The green light was given on 20 May 2023 to the ski lifts and all the many activities for mountain enthusiasts and those who want to spend a holiday filled with high-altitude well-being.

For those not yet familiar with it, Kronplatz is part of the Dolomites. It reaches an altitude of 2,275 metres and lends its name to the entire tourist region lying between Bruneck, St. Vigil, Olang, Kiens and Antholz Valley, in the Pustertal Valley, in the eastern section of South Tyrol (Alto Adige). It’s impossible not to fall in love with these places that offer a truly wide assortment of opportunities for enjoying the mountains.

For those more adrenaline-charged who love Trails, Kronplatz has custom designed the Kronplatz Bike Park, 18 absolutely unique trails created over the area’s natural characteristics and woods, which tell a different story in every route. Even the names of the tracks are unique in the Kronplatz Bike Park: Franz and Hans are by now cult figures and have been familiar names in the community for years. Their successors, Andreas, Alex and Co., have nothing to envy and are some of the favourite routes of the bike park’s habitués.

If to the north the high mountains of the main Alpine chain invite mountain climbers and bikers, the majestic Dolomites to the south-west do the same. These “pale mountains” surrounded by an aura of legend have been proclaimed an UNESCO world nature heritage site. For those who prefer to experience nature in a gentler way, they can set out to discover the Pustertal Valley by taking a walk to conquer the side valleys with unforgettable routes along a myriad of well-marked hiking paths.

The Kronplatz tourist area contains three nature parks inside the tourist region, each with its own natural characteristics that make them unique. St. Vigil, the magnificent village in the middle of the Dolomites, where visitors can start off on stupendous walks in the marvellous Fanes-Senes-Braies Nature Park with its spruce woods. Morphological typically karst formations and fissures and dolines distinguish the areas, whose centre consists of the Fanes Alp and enchanting ponds on the Fanes.

Limestone deserts on the plateaus, impressive walls, fertile and undulating alpine meadows, bizarrely jagged peaks, valleys hollowed out by erosion and dense forests of conifers form the geological variety of the Puez-Odle Nature Park. The nature park can be called the “worksite of the Dolomites” because there geologists unearth all types of minerals, sedimentary stratification and different forms of disintegration, typical of the Dolomites.

One characteristic of the Rieserferner-Ahrn Nature Park is its hydrological abundance. Lake Antholz, the third-largest natural lake of South Tyrol, is found at the end of the Antholz Valley.

Adventures and excursions not only for adults but for kids as well. Kronplatz has thought up activities for all the family and because nature is the most wonderful playground in the world! Paths that can be covered with pushchairs and many exploration tours along pleasant forest paths and circular routes with splendid panoramic views.
