TAAG Angola airlines hereby informs all stakeholders about its growth plan and operations ahead

TAAG Angola airlines hereby informs all stakeholders about its growth plan and operations ahead. As reported, the company is increasing frequencies on existing routes and is very close to announce key destinations to reopening and/or new markets. This growth perspective is in line with market demand indicators and passengers’ expectations about concerning preferred destinations.

TAAG intends to increase the fleet through the recovery of aircraft currently in maintenance and new aircraft acquisition (under leasing) ensuring greater availability in flight schedule overall for both passenger and cargo segment.

Currently, TAAG has multiple Boeing 777 and Boeing 737 in an intensive maintenance process, which, once recovered, the aircraft will reintegrate into the fleet. As a temporary replacement for aircraft undergoing maintenance, TAAG incorporated a wet lease solution.

Furthermore, to respond to market demand, TAAG will reinforce the fleet effectively in the 2023 second semester, with six new Airbus A220 aircraft (leasing) in a long-term contract. Nevertheless, additional negotiations are ongoing with multiple suppliers, including Boeing.

As the company’s operation grows, TAAG relies primarily on its crew and maintenance personnel, who will benefit from a complete training program to address the Airbus typology, a pioneering aircraft in the history of TAAG.

All these network developments comply with strong expectations about traffic volume increase in the long term, therefore TAAG’s focus is on recruiting and training people (adding to the existent workforce) prioritizing (in the first phase) pilots, aeronautical engineers, and mathematicians.

Overall, the growth plan is based on adding valences and skills to our people, assuring greater aircraft availability to cover more routes, leveraging customer-oriented services, and passenger comfort. All mentioned before is just essential for the company’s profitability and sustainability.
