Air Astana, the multi-award-winning national airline of Kazakhstan, looks back on a highly successful summer season in Germany. Due to a continuously growing demand, flights from Frankfurt to Kazakhstan were extremely busy so that Air Astana reached a level similar to summer 2019, when flights were also almost fully booked. Since late May 2022, the Kazakh national carrier has again been connecting Frankfurt daily with Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan. In addition, every Wednesday there is a flight from Frankfurt to Uralsk in the northwest of the world’s ninth-largest country.
„We saw an excellent demand for our flights from Frankfurt Airport again this year. This shows that Air Astana’s investments in the fleet – the tenth state-of-the-art Airbus A321 LR is scheduled to enter service by the end of the year –, the expansion of the route network and the unconditional promise of quality clearly meet the needs of our passengers,” said Susith Hettihewa, Senior Regional Manager EU Central & East, Turkey at Air Astana. „In the 2022/23 winter schedule, we have also further expanded connections to popular destinations such as Phuket, Delhi, Bangkok and the Maldives via our Astana and Almaty hubs.”
Just a few weeks ago, the airline also unveiled a new edition of its popular Stopover Holidays programme. Flying with Air Astana via Astana and Almaty, passengers can enjoy one night’s accommodation including breakfast in selected three- or four-star hotels in the two cities, as well as airport transfers, for a total of from 19 USD. Additional hotel nights can also be booked at attractive rates.
Strong team at Air Astana’s Frankfurt office
Air Astana has made a name for itself in the German market in both the business travel and tourism sectors over the past two decades. This includes not only Kazakhstan as a business center and travel destination on the Silk Road, but also connecting flights to Central Asia, which become increasingly available for booking through tour operators. Besides Susith Hettihewa, Sven Gossow, Country Manager Germany, Austria & Switzerland at Air Astana, who has been working for the Kazakh airline for 13 years, is largely responsible for this development. Melanie Bremer has also been supporting the team since February 2022.
As Executive Sales & Marketing, she is responsible for all marketing, promotion and sales activities of the Kazakh airline in the German market. Nicole Guzy has completed the team as Sales & Marketing Coordinator since autumn this year. She joined the airline after completing her training as an international aviation assistant at the School of Tourism in Frankfurt. The reservations duo consists of Alexandra Rudenko and Elena Bernovskaya. Nadine Michel, Manager Airport Services Frankfurt at Air Astana, is responsible for operations at Frankfurt Airport. She is supported by the supervisors Eleni Koussidou and Lefkothea Tsemekidou.
CMT, f.re.e and ITB: Participations in travel fairs 2023
