We are talking about the Kronplatz Tourist Region, in the heart of Puster Valley in South Tyrol (Alto Adige). Renowned for being the home of one of the most modern ski areas in the Alps, it is a unique tourist region with many offers for all the family to have fun and relax, also during the summer months.
The green Kronplatz Tourist Region gratifies everyone’s wishes for spending summer holidays dedicated to excursions. In close contact with the uncontaminated nature of Puster Valley, you can venture on excursion experiences that will make you fall in love with this land.
Surrounded by the Fanes-Sennes-Prags, Puez-Geisler and Riesenferner-Ahrn nature reserves, three nature parks whose scenery is unparalleled await you. Vast expanses and enchanting side valleys, thick forests and vast alpine meadows, steep peaks and picturesque mountain plateaus, thunderous waterfalls and dreamy crystalline lakes: the fascinating alpine world of the Dolomites beckons you to embark on unforgettable activities along a myriad of well-marked hiking paths.
One exciting route appropriate for the entire family is the „Cascata Egger” path in Antholzertal Valley, a 23-minute walk down 0.7 km that starts in Antholz Mittertal (sports area) to then continue on to Eggerhöfen. After reaching the bridge, the route continues along the Egger stream until reaching the enchanting waterfall that will leave you in awe.
For those who would like a longer route, but still with a low degree of difficulty, after arriving at Masi Egger and taking the road to the right, continuing on for 45 minutes, you will arrive at the Klammbach waterfall under Eggerhöfe for a total distance of 1.7 km.
If you want to climb higher, the Concordia 360° Circular Route is for you. At an altitude of 2,275 m, it can be covered round trip in an hour’s time. It is an easy route, and within everyone’s reach (even with a stroller), around the peak of Kronplatz, starting from the Concordia bell at the top. The circular route pays homage to a fabulous surrounding view: the Dolomites to the south and the main crest of the Alps to the north.
It will be possible to reach and visit the prestigious museums “Messner Mountain Museum Corones“, dedicated to the mountaineering legends, inaugurated in the summer of 2015 with the star of architects Zaha Hadid, and the “LUMEN Museum”, which covers the history of mountain photography, from its origins up until today.
While walking, different panoramic points are found along the route that display the incomparable individuality of the landscape, drawn and skilfully staged by the local artist Helmuth Pizzinini.
Whether you want an adventure in the midst of impressive rocky walls, to go down paths suitable for the entire family that lead to the local mountain huts of Puster Valley, or to set out in search of this land’s natural and cultural treasures, we invite you to dive into the world of excursions of Kronplatz.
