Milan, January 25th, 2024 – A leader in the whirlpool world and a benchmark wellness brand, Jacuzzi® is pleased to announce the introduction of a unique solution in the Spa and Swim Spa market: it is the infrared and red light technology presented for the first time on the family of new top-of-the-line J-400™, J-LX® and PowerPro™ and PowerActive™ Swim Spas. A solution that, when combined with the whirlpool, enables the pursuit of an unparalleled renewal effect, along with tangible benefits on back pain and lower back muscle aches.
This is thanks to the FX-IR seat that, by integrating these new technologies, works on the lower back, where most muscle tension and pain due to orthopedic problems, stress, strain and spinal overload are typically concentrated. In this sense, the combined solution introduced by Jacuzzi® acts at three different levels to produce tangible benefits: at the skin level, the combined action of hydromassage and pressure of the PowerPro® jets offers an incisive massage, particularly effective in relieving tension in the lower back. Likewise, the action of the red light, with its regenerating properties, benefits the surface tissues.
At the same time, Near Infrared-through Near-InfraRed (NIR) waves-acts on the deeper tissues of the lumbar region, relieving pain, promoting cell regeneration with an analgesic effect, and reducing inflammatory states. The entire cycle of combined infrared and red light hydrotherapy-the only one of its kind in the Spa and Swim Spa market-has a total duration of 20 minutes and is easily managed either from the LED display on board the Spa or Swim Spa, which also displays a timer with the duration of the session, or remotely, via smartphone, thanks to the SmartTub® app, which monitors the number and duration of treatments performed.
A leader in the hot tub world, Jacuzzi® has also decided to conduct extensive research for further possible applications and benefits, both for Spas and Swim Spas. The Jacuzzi® R&D department is collaborating with the Cleveland Clinic, one of the top hospital systems in the U.S. and the world, especially for technology management systems, to develop an educational white paper on the benefits of this unique solution.
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), some 619 million people worldwide live with low back pain, the leading cause of disabling situations globally. At the same time, WHO itself reports how this condition, among those afflicting the musculoskeletal system, is the one in which, with appropriate rehabilitation treatments, most patients can achieve tangible benefits. Realizing that back pain is a serious problem for people all over the world, Jacuzzi® decided to invest in research, thus going so far as to develop a therapeutic seat in J-LX® and J-400™ Spas and in PowerPro™ e PowerActive™ Swim Spas: the treatment of lumbar muscles with infrared (NIR) technology and red light, together with the adoption of correct behaviors and in the context of medically supervised therapy, actually facilitates the path to recovery. In the case of Jacuzzi®, the infrared light used is full spectrum with a wavelength of 850 nm, 660 nm for red light.
In fact, the infrared and red light technology used in Jacuzzi® Spas and Swim Spas has preset programs that cannot be changed by the user, to prevent any possible misuse. Moreover, this function can only be activated in conjunction with the whirlpool function and, most importantly, meets IEC 62471 safety standards. Jacuzzi®’s IR and red light technology has met decided customer approval, so much so that almost all spa customers surveyed by Jacuzzi® in the United States found this technology useful and of high added value.
All that remains, therefore, is to relax and enjoy the beneficial regenerative effect.
Currently, this innovation is available on the new J-LX® and J-400™ collections of Spas and the Jacuzzi® PowerPro™ and PowerActive™ Swim Spas.
