The ISSIMO X Percossi Papi Sacred Heart pendant is designed with the cloisonné technique created with enamels and enriched with a micro-mosaic of small natural pearls. The materials are precious: 925 silver plated in 24kt gold, blood-red garnets and blue topazes to recall the sky. The pendant also features a wreath of leaves and thorns forming an exquisite heart.
The jewel is inspired by ex-voto offerings, tokens of gratitude to saints and divinities, a popular Southern-Italian tradition. “Religious iconography has always been one of the main legacies of our culture, especially in the southern regions such as Campania and Sicily. Naples, in particular, is an enduring source of inspiration” – explains Diego Percossi Papi. “This is part of our design method for creating pieces like this new pendant. Beyond the emotional layer of the design, there is an in-depth analysis, a historical research into the roots of our culture.”
