- Ethiopian Airlines has announced that its passenger services to Antananarivo from Addis Ababa will resume starting from 23 April, 5 times per week. We are awaiting info when they can fly to Nosy Be.
- Turkish Airlines will restart in June, tickets are already bookable
- Air France continues flying from Paris, Air Madagascar also flies from Paris
- Kenyan Airways will restart its regular passenger services from Nairobi as of 25 April, 3 times per week
- Air Austral announces the reopening of its Reunion – Nosy Be line: from 2 May 2 flights per week, from mid-June 4 frequencies per week
Madagascar’s present entry requirements are the following
- There is no longer compulsory confinement on arrival in Madagascar.
- Presentation of a negative result of an Rt-PCR test carried out 72 hours before boarding is necessary before taking the flight.
- Rapid antigen test upon arrival: carrying out an antigenic test on arrival in Madagascar, at the expense of the traveler. Updated information for the price: 15 Euros / 20 USD / 65,000 MGA. Test results are available between 15 and 30 minutes.
- If a positive antigen test results on arrival: in the event of a positive antigen test result on arrival, confinement for a minimum of 7 days will be implemented in a dedicated establishment, at the expense of the traveler.
Information about visa
You can easily obtain a tourist visa for a fee either online (on the e-visa website) / or at the airport upon your arrival / or at the Consulate of Madagascar in your country (which is probably more expensive then the first two). Make sure an entry stamp is recorded in your passport.
The visa fees at the airport are as follows (payable in cash in Malagasy Ariary, US dollars or Euros):
– for a stay of up to 30 days: 35 € or 37 USD or 115’000 Ar
– for a stay of 31 to 60 days: 40 € or 45 USD or 135’000 Ar
Your passport must be valid for a minimum period of 6 months from the date of entry into Madagascar. You should have at least 2 blank pages in your passport on arrival.If you get the visa at the airport, you do not need to bring photographs.
The following e-visa website http://www.evisamada.gov.mg/ is the only official e-visa website. You can apply for the visa, pay online with Visa and Mastercard and get a „landing permission”.
