The 40 km bike trail is difficult to complete without a detour or two as it offers many breathtaking sights worth a stop. Starting off in Klaipėda, it goes through Palanga, the summer capital of Lithuania. There you can check out an exceptional Amber Museum housed in a 19th-century palace and one of the largest amber pieces in Europe. Some other unique views on the route include the glacial Lake Plazė, the Curonian Cemetery in Karklė, and the Nemirseta Coastal Dunes.

With plenty of tourist attractions, Vilnius is set to amuse those who seek an adventure. The city is known for its charming Old Town with tiny alleys, cobbled streets, and a wonderful blend of Gothic, Renaissance, Baroque, and Classical architecture. If exploring on foot is not for you, hop on a bicycle and choose a trail, such as the one starting in Cathedral Square and ending in Europa Park, an open-air museum just outside the city that will show you yet another face of Vilnius.
Lakes and islands of Trakai
The enchanting 18 km trail is full of tiny lake islands surrounding the Trakai Island Castle, a massive tourist attraction and the former residence of the Grand Duke of Lithuania. The relatively short, family-friendly route will take you along the picturesque Lake Galvė, a favorite among water sport enthusiasts, divers, and rowers.
Varnikai Trail
The 3.5 km trail is located in Trakai, the historical capital of Lithuania. Hidden deep in the forest, it includes a blend of trees, lake, and marsh. Along the way, you will discover the unaffected beauty of Ilgelis Swamp, known for the abundance of various berries, including cranberries, lingonberries, wild strawberries, and blueberries.
Juniper Valley
On the outskirts of Kaunas, you will find Juniper Valley Trail, one of the most charming hiking trails in the country. The air is fresh and the waters of Kaunas Lagoon glisten through the branches, making the trail an incredible sight. Moreover, the trail will also improve your well-being, as junipers have properties known to help treat colds and improve blood circulation.
Strolling Above the Ground
The Treetop Walking Path in Anykščiai is probably the most instagrammable trail of all. It winds over 20 meters above the ground, so hikers can almost touch the treetops. The path ends with a 34 m watchtower that opens up a breathtaking view of the Šventoji River Valley.
